HOWARD WAYNE DURRANT

JANUARY 30, 1922 - DECEMBER 12, 1991 

Bellfountain, Ore- Services for Howard Wayne Durrant 26795 Bellfountain Rd. Monroe, Ore. were held Dec. 14 in the Bellfountain Community Church of which he was a member. 

Mr. Durrant, a former Osawatomie, KS resident, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 1991, in his home of liver failure. 

He was born Jan. 30, 1922, in Osawatomie and his parents were Robert and Ethel Chapman Durrant. After graduating from Osawatomie High School in 1940, he entered the United States Navy May 27, 1940. He served for 13 years and was commended for services on several submarines during World War II. He and Norma G. Salter were married May 27, 1944, in Newbury, Mass. They lived in the Monroe area for many years and Mr. Durrant worked as a truck driver for Morse Brothers until retiring. 

Among those preceding him in death were a son, Howard Wayne Durrant Jr. and a daughter, Susan. 

Survivors include his wife, Norma, of the home; two sons, Jim Durrant, Corvallis, and Donny Durrant, Eugene; three daughters, Juanita Alexander, Harrisburg, Debby Durrant, Salem, and Shelley Durrant, Bellfountain; numerous grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Vault interment was held in the Rest Lawn Cemetery in Junction City. Arrangements were under the direction of McHenry Funeral Home, Corvallis.
