BETTY ANN CATON

JULY 6, 1922 - APRIL 28, 1954

Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Caton, 31, daughter of Mrs. Helen Caton of Osawatomie and

J. Harry Caton of Salina, died Wednesday, April 28, 1954, at St. Luke's hospital where she had been a patient six weeks. Cancer of the throat caused the death.

She was born in Kansas City July 6, 1922, and in 1940 was graduated from the Osawatomie High School. She entered Ursuline Academy that fall and that school year was stricken by cancer. In 1942 she graduated from Ursuline and enrolled in the St. Luke's hospital nursing school, becoming a registered nurse in 1945. She was a nurse in several hospitals, the last being the Olathe Community hospital.

She was a member of St. Phillip's Catholic church in Osawatomie.

Surviving are her parents; a brother, Robert J. Caton of Olathe and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Blanche Snyder of Osawatomie.

The rosary was recited in the Birchard funeral home at Osawatomie Friday evening. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Wm. G. O'Shea, were in St. Phillip's church Saturday morning. Pallbearers, selected by Miss. Caton, were Leonard Yocum,

Robert Brown, Joe Masters, Glenn E. Tush, Donald St. Louis and Charles Wilson of Paola. Burial was in the new Osawatomie cemetery
