LILLIAN MAXINE BUSSELL McCOACH

 

CLASS OF 1940 

JANUARY 9, 1923 - NOVEMBER 13, 1967

Funeral services for Mrs Troy McCoach, 44, Osawatomie, were held in the Eddy Funeral Home Thursday afternoon with Rev. Clark Harbach officiating. Mrs. John Dollar played organ selections. Pallbearers were Archie Parks, Brent Reppert, Lance Reppert, Raymond Renoe, Emmett Keller and Dr. Eugene Kasper. Burial was in the Osawatomie Cemetery.

Mrs. McCoach died November 13, 1967 in St. Mary's Hospial, Kansas City, following a lingering illness.

Lillian Maxine Bussell McCoach was born January 9, 1923 at Ottawa, the daughter of Samuel Oliver and Ida May Morrison Bussell. She had lived in Osawatomie since she was four years old. In 1940 she graduated from Osawatomie High School. She attended Kansas State Teachers College of Emporia and Ursuline Academy. In 1960, she received a B.A. degree from Ottawa University.

July 17, 1945, she was married to Troy Edwin McCoach and one son, Troy Lee McCoach, was born to them.

Mrs. McCoach began her teaching career at a rural school at Jordan. She later taught at Highland, Green Valley, Stanton and Lone Elm rural schools and the past 12 years had taught sixth grade in the Osawatomie Schools.

She was baptized into membership of the First Baptist church in Osawatomie April 14, 1953. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa teachers' sorority, the Osawatomie Business and Professional Women's club and the Osawatomie and Kansas Teachers Associations.

Besides her husband and son, Mrs. McCoach is survived by her mother and a half brother, Alvin Blackstone of Osawatomie.
