KEITH A. BUSSELL

CLASS OF 1940

DECEMBER 15, 1921 - JANUARY 10, 2006

Keith Arthur Bussell of Overland Park died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006. He was 84 years old, born Dec. 15, 1921 to Vern and Lola Johnson Bussell. He attended Indianapolis Grade School and graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1940. He served 4 years in the Army during WWII, stationed in the Philippines. He was a proud member of the American Legion for over 50 years.

In 1946 he married Joyce Ann Attebery in Arizona and on Jan 21st would have been married 60 years. He worked for Armor Star Meat Packing Co. of 20 years, then over 20 years for the Johnson Co. water treatment plant, from where he retired.

He leaves his wife, Joyce, a brother, Ray Bussell, and his wife, Rosalie, of Osawatomie, KS.; a sister, Charlotte Manly and her husband Bill of Kansas City, MO.; three children - Gary Bussell and wife, Pam of New Mexico, Audrey Gail Foye and husband Robert of Lane, KS., Ernie Bussell and wife Betsy of Overland Park, KS; grandchildren Chip Bussell, Amy Barker, Rachel Henley, Keith Huggins, Elliott, Weston and Wyatt Bussell; and great-grandchildren Mathew, Nick and Jennifer McKee, Joshua Barker, Rylee, Alex and Chloe Huggins. He leaves behind wonderful nieces and nephews and many great friends and neighbors.

Keith was buried Friday, Jan. 13, at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery with flag ceremony done by the American Legion with a 21-gun salute.
