national honor society
A chapter of the
National Honorary Society for secondary schools was
organized in O.H.S. during the year, 1927-'28 by Mr.
York. The object of this
society is to promote scholarship, service, leadership, and
character in the school. The following
students were elected to members were elected to membership
at a meeting of the faculty council: Dorothy Funk, Velma
Weber, Freda Miller, Neola Frederick, Aileen Holloway,
Pauline Cole, George Lowe and Allen Grant. The executive
committee consists of a faculty council and the officers of
the chapter. The faculty council is composed of: Misses Dick
and alder; Messrs. Fredericks, Endicott, and Reb, with Mr.
York as chairman of the executive committee. Honorary pins were
given to the members by the School Board.

HIGH SCHOOL JOURNALISTS The National Honorary Society for High School Journalists is a new organization in O.H.S. A person must be in the upper one-third of his class in general scholastic standing and must be a Junior or Senior in high school, and the person must have done superior journalistic work to be eligible to membership. |
