~ JR-SR PROM ~
Enchanted Evening
Enjoyed
On Bali Ha'i
Approximately 190
Seniors, Juniors, faculty, and guests boarded the USS Funjoy
on May 7 to begin a cruise to Bali Ha'i. Although it was the
last Prom for many present, the occasion was not spoiled by
any sadness. The banquet, prepared by Mrs. Clerico's Foods
classes, consisted of chicken and noodle casserole
supplemented with green greans and rolls. After the meal,
the welcome was extended by Sheila Zakoura, Junior Class
President and President Dennis Carpenter responded for the
Seniors. Although the banquet
was over, there was still much to look forward to. After
changing into dinner jackets and formals, everyone headed to
the city auditorium which had been transformed into a south
pacific island. The center of attraction was a volcano
surrounded by palm trees and natives. Desert beige and green
crepe paper covered the walls and ceiling. At the far end of
the auditorium was the refreshment table which everyone
visited quite often. From nine to midnight, music for
dancing was pvodied by the Four speeds. The hamburgers and
french fries, served as a snack by the Elks and Lions, were
really welcomed by the hungry dancers. To conclude the
evening a movie, "It Happpened to Jane", was shown for a
variety of entertainment.
