TROJANS KEEP TOM-TOM
FOURTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR

The traditional Tom-Tom remains in the halls of O.H.S. On November 10, 1961, the Trojans scored a victory over the Panthers, to keep the Tom-Tom. Since 1939 the Tom-Tom has been kept by the victor of the annual football game between Osawatomie and Paola. Although it now has many years behind it and is in poor condition, it still carries with it the honor, prestige, and memories of past years.

The 1961 season opened in triumphant glory for the Trojans with victories over Baldwin, Harrisonville, and Tonganoxie. O.H.S. experienced their first defeat from the Immaculata Raiders. After suffering their second defeat from Olathe, the Trojans tied the Bonner Braves 19-19. The Trojans then chalked up two more victories by downing DeSoto and defeating Paola, to end the season in a winning fashion. The Paola victory proved to be very stimulating for the Osawatomie team and its supporters. It was the fourth consecutive year that the Trojans have beaten the Panthers.
