1946 OHS Yearbook

introduction

DEDICATION

Many things have happened in our school days that will make pleasant memories in years to follow. So that these memories may be recalled by all who have enjoyed them, we, the Class of 1946, dedicate our annual to the faculty and to the students of O.H.S.

"The Trojan", the O.H.S. football team, has been chosen for the title of this yearbook. The Class of 1946 hopes to encourage the future classes to use "The Trojan" as a traditional title.

In this yearbook we recollect games we shall never forget, our first formal ball, the plays that were best of all, our friends with whom we shared secrets and strolled through the halls, the teachers of whom we grew fond, and every worthwhile contribution that was ours. These things you will find reflected in the following pages. Of all these memories none will remain so real as the evening we spent at the Junior-Senior banquet. From this Banquet we have chosen the theme of our yearbook, "Under the Big Top".

In the language of the circus, we, the Senior Class of 1946, have concluded our final performance. it seems only a dream the twelve years spent "under that big top". We refer to our beloved school buildings as "The Big Top" for several reasons: Many performers, clowns, and ringmasters - ordinarily called teachers - have been sheltered there; we have enjoyed every minute of our twelve-seasons' training from apprentices to masters, and we do thank the ringmasters for without their enduring patience and guiding ways we could not have obtained this master-ship.
