CLASS OF 1974 SEPTEMBER 24, 1956 - JUNE 6, 2012 COLUMBUS, KANSAS: Cindy Lea (Chitwood) Cossairt, (the Deli Lady), age 55, passed away at 6:37 pm, Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg, KS. Cindy was born September 24, 1956 in Paola, Kansas to the union of Max and Carol (Mathews) Chitwood. She married Terry Cossairt June 4, 1999 in Miami, OK. He survives of the home. Cindy has lived most of her adult life in the area. She worked as the Deli Manager for the Apple Market Grocery store in Columbus, KS. Her hobbies included Cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grand-daughters. She loved them very much. Survivors include her husband Terry, mother Carol, one son, Max Morang and wife Jennifer of Pittsburg, KS; one sister, Cara Chitwood of Osawatomie, KS; and two brothers, Joe Chitwood and wife Sue of North Platte, NE, and Mike Chitwood and wife Christy of Colman, SD; and three lovely grand-daughters. She was preceded in death by her father Max, and one son Cody. Cindy has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home of Columbus, KS for cremation. The family will have a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Children's Miracle Network or the Ronald McDonald House of Joplin, MO. |
