Everett S. Thompson, Jr., 67, of Topeka, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at a Topeka hospital. He was born June 28, 1947 in Osawatomie, KS, the son of Everett S. and Jean Craig Thompson, Sr.  
Everett was a graduate of Osawatomie High School. He enlisted as a Combat Engineer and was awarded the Sharpshooter Medal in the Army during the Vietnam War. After his service, he received a Business Degree from Clark’s Business School.
Everett was employed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company as an accountant for 10 years and later for the Santa Fe Railway before retiring. He attended True Light Ministries and Second Baptist Church. He enjoyed basketball, billiards, music, and spending time with his family.
Everett married Lilian F. Houston on December 5, 1970 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include children, Everett S. Thompson, III, Cindy (Billy) Brooks, Gina Houston, LaTonya (Clifton) Lewis, Bradley (Sheila) McGinnis, Barry (Tamara) McGinnis, Adriene (Doug) Barnes, seventeen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Noon Saturday, April 11, 2015 at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Topeka Cemetery. Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be given to the Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
