Jerry Lee “Doc”
Fultz, 74, of Gardner, Kansas passed away on October 12, 2018 at
Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas.
Memorial service Friday, at
2 PM on October 19, 2018 at Grace Baptist Church, 650 E. Madison,
Gardner, KS 66030.
Doc was born on
March 24, 1944 at Paola Hospital in Paola, Kansas to Guy & Amy
Fultz. He grew up in Osawatomie, KS and
graduated from Osawaotmie
High School in 1962. Doc served in the United States Navy for 4
years and was stationed in
Guam during the Vietnam War. Doc married
his first wife, Barbara Bernhardt in 1977. She preceded him in
death. He later married Gail Rutledge in 1999.
For many years Doc
worked in HVAC and refrigeration for the Wendy’s Inter national
Corporation.
Doc was a loving man
who was always willing to help anyone in need. He was known to have
such a great attitude always having a smile on his face
no matter
what life threw at him. He would do anything he could to cheer
someone up making everyone laugh whenever he could.
He was witty to
a fault and was so funny. He loved joking with whoever was around
and had such an easy going laid back attitude.
Doc’s presence
always has a very calming effect on the people around him. He was
also known to have quite the sweet tooth- ok a huge sweet tooth.
He
loved his M&M’s and making cakes or any sweet treats! Doc loved
watching Survivor and Dancing with the Stars but really he just loved
life.
He loved being around his family and his friends.
Doc was preceded in
death by his parents. Guy Roosevelt & Amy Louise Fultz;
brothers, Bill & Larry Fultz; and wife Barbara Fultz.
He is
survived by wife, Gail Fultz; daughter, Kayci Fultz; step-daughter,
Farie Crim; Step-son, Shawn Rutledge;
son-in-law, Alex Predo; brother
Mike Fultz, grandchildren: Traven Rutledge, Saviah Rutledge, and
Xavier Predo;
and many more nieces, nephews, family and friends.
