Willis Dale
Barltett, 75, passed away October 21, 2018, at home in Arlington,
Texas. A celebration of his life will be held at
Barry Christian
Church, 1500 NW Barry Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64155, on October
26, 2018
Willis was born
January 18, 1943, in rural Osawatomie, Kansas, to Jesse and Hattie
Bartlett. He was united in marriage to Nancy Ellsworth on February
12, 1961.
He is survived by his wife Nancy and children, Larry
Bartlett (wife Wanda), Cindy Bartlett and Diane Brinker (husband
Vance); five granddaughters,
Tiffany Traylor, Megan Brinker, Kristen
Hagenbuch, Laura Brinker and Melinda Brinker; and one great-grandson,
Luke Traylor.
Willis was the sixth
child of Hattie and Jesse Bartlett. Surviving siblings include
Flossie Hines, Raye utler and Rozella Jordan.
He was preceded in
death by his parents and brothers Leonard and Wesley Bartlett.
Willis was employed
with the United Auto Workers at the local level and also was on the
international staff as a service representative.
At the time of his
retirement he was serving as a commissioner for the Federal Mediation
and Conciliation Service.
Before his move to
Arlington, he was very active in the Barry Christian Church. He
served as both a deacon and elder and
served as the chairman of the
Board of Trustees. He also attended the Midwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary while residing in Kansas City.
Willis enjoyed
carpentry and always has a project in progress. He enjoyed gardening
and working in the yard.
He enjoyed spending time with his family,
boating and camping at Lake Ouachita in Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial fund donations be made the Barry Christian Church in Kansas City.
