SIERRA DARST PINNEO

CLASS OF 1959 

Sierra Jane Pinneo, 24, died April 11, 1965 in a head-on collision on a county road north of Osawatomie. She was born February 1, 1941, in Fredonia, the daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. John S. Darst, formerly of Osawatomie, now of Tulsa, Okla.

She started her elementary schooling in Parsons. When she was in the fifth grade the family moved to Osawatomie where she completed her high school education. She was president of her senior class in 1959. She attended the Nazarene church. In 1959 she started to work at the Osawatomie State hospital and continued work there until her death, being assigned to the Rush-Biddle section. She was held in high regard by her fellow workers and staff members and was loved by the patients with whom she so faithfully worked.

In 1960 she was married to Charles Pinneo. To this union two sons were born, Kevin, 4, and Brian, 3. Besides the husband and two sons of the home, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Peggy Renoe, Mission, and Mrs. Paula Crozier, Battle Creek, Mich., one brother, John Richard Darst, Mission; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Darst, Tulsa.

Funeral services were held at the Eddy Funeral Home Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Frank McDowell and Rev. Neil McPherson officiating. Organ selections were played by Mrs. Betty McPherson. Pallbearers were Ron Renoe, Larry Crozier, Roy Pinneo, Don Coffelt, Eugene Stewart and Raymond Russell. Burial was in the Osawatomie cemetery.
