Raymond Leroy "Sam" Caylor, 47, Garnett, Kan., died Thursday, Aug. 3, 1989, in the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. Mr. Caylor suffered with a heart condition and was waiting for a heart transplant.

He was born in Osawatomie, Kan., and graduated from Osawatomie High School with the class of 1959. He lived in Olathe in the mid 1960s and moved to Garnett in 1978. Mr. Caylor was a farmer.

He and Sue Smith were married Oct. 1, 1969, Ottawa.

He attended the Garnett United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Heartline Group at St. Luke's Hospital and KU Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Caylor, two sons, Gary Caylor and Adam Caylor, and a daughter, Lisa Caylor, all of the home; and his parents, Raymond and Frieda Caylor, and a sister, Lois Caylor, all of Garnett.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the church; private graveside services will be at the Garnett Cemetery.

Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Farris-Feuerborn Chapel, Garnett. The family suggests contributions to the children's education.
