Harry D. McCoy, 61, Houston, TX, a native of Osawatomie, died February 2, 2002 at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston, He had bypass heart surgery in June 2001 and a second bypass heart surgery shortly before his death.

He was born June 6, 1940 in Osawatomie, the son of Charles E. and Maxine Boling McCoy. He grew up in Osawatomie, attended local schools and graduated from Osawatomie High School with the Class of 1958.

Mr. McCoy moved to Kansas City, KS, in 1960 and worked as a pressman for the Kansas City Star. He moved to Houston in 1975 and was a pressman for the Houston Chronicle for 27 years. He career as a newspaper pressman spanned 44 years.

He was a member of the Oaks Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Pat Hannen McCoy of the home; a daughter, Joanne Staley of Houston; a son, Allan McCoy of Houston; three sisters, Christina Ault of Kansas City, MO, Mildred Storms of Osawatomie and Sue Lammers of Cawker City, KS; and four grandchildren.

Services and burial were in Tomball, TX.

Memorials were to the American Heart Association.
