Services for Judy Johnson, 1616 St. Andrews Drive, Lawrence, were held Thursday in Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home.

Mrs. Johnson died May 4 in her home. She was 46.

Born Aug. 7, 1940, in Kansas City, Mo., she was the daughter of John M. and Frances Cameron Harvey Findley. She grew up in Osawatomie and attended Osawatomie schools, graduating as valedictorian of the Class of 1958. She graduated from the University of Kansas in 1962 with a degree in elementary education.

On Aug. 19, 1962 she and Robert W. Johnson were married in Osawatomie. Because of his career with the U.S. Air Force, they lived in many places including Warner Robbins, Ga., Tacoma, Wash., Sacramento, Calif., and Greatworth, England.

While in Warner Robbins, she taught school. Later, she assisted in the Osawatomie school system while her husband was in Vietnam.

She was active in the Officer's Wives Clubs, family services organizations and chapel activities during her years as an Air Force wife. Mrs. Johnson was chosen as an Outstanding Young Woman of America in 1970.

The Johnson family had resided in Lawrence since August 1982.

Survivors include her husband, Robert, two sons, Robert W. Johnson II and Reed Johnson, and two daughters, Jennifer Johnson and Jenne-marie Johnson, all of the home; a brother, John Findley, Los Angeles, Calif.; and a sister, Barbara McCall, Newton.

Dr. Alan Smith officiated at the service. Music was provided by Nelle Dollar, organist. Pallbearers were Joseph Fenoughty, Donald Dial, Gary Reed, Eugene Caylor, Mark McCall and Philip Johnson. Burial was in Osawatomie Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in her name to the Kaw Valley Girl Scouts.
