Wanda (Mitzie) Lee Hein, 79 of Leawood, KS, died peacefully at home on Easter Sunday, April 21st. Wanda is survived by her husband of 60 years, Wayne K. Hein, their children Mark Hein & wife Karen, Sandra Wachter & husband Marc and Scott Hein; her grandchildren, Amanda Tran & husband Alex, Nicole Manning & hisband Spencer, Brandon Reigel & wife Alison, Amy Hein, Dylan Wachter, Aubrey Reigel and Steven Hein; her beloved great-grand daughter Avery Manning; brother Fred M. Wicke & sister-in-law Marie Ann, sister Sharon Glazier and many cousins, nieces & nephews, She was preceded in death by her parents Fred A. & Helen Lee Wicke.
Wanda grew up in Osawatomie, KS and moved to Kansas City when she was 18 years old. She worked for Kansas City Life Insurance Company where she met her husband. The couple moved to Leawood in 1967 and raised their family. Wanda stayed very active by volunteering with the Lutheran Braille Workers, the Osawatomie Alumni Association and a Blessing Abound. Her passion was her family, often stating that her grandchildren and great-granddaughter were the joys of her life.
The family suggests donations in her honor be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, the American Cancer Society or Kansas City Hospice.
