Barbara Ann Mathia, age 75 died at Olathe Medical Center on October 3, 2011

She was born on September 2nd, 1936 in Arkansas. She was the daughter of Monroe Webb and Ethyle Iris (Woolley) Webb Barbara lived in Osawatomie for many years graduating from Osawatomie High School in the class of 1955.

She and Raymond Mathia were united in marriage on September 14th, 1957 and became the parents of three children, Scott, Dan and Linda.

Barbara worked as a secretary for Scimitar Oil and the Osawatomie State Hospital Security Department. She and Raymond owned and operated the Mathia Retail Liquor Store from 1949-1999.

She was an avid reader having read thousands of books during her lifetime. She had a great heart and was a friend to many.

She is survived by two sons Scott Mathia and wife Karen of Wichita, Ks; Dan Mathia and wife Diane of Louisburg, Ks; one daughter Linda Hood and husband Larry of Broken Arrow, Ok; six grandchildren Stuart and Alex King, Brooke and Derek Mathia, Scott and Spencer Hood. She also leaves behind her canine companion Cassie.

In lieu of flowers family requests donations to the Miami County Cancer Foundation.

Graveside service will be at 1:00PM Friday Oct.7,2011 at the Antioch Cemetery 225th and Waverly Rd. Mi.Co.Ks.
