LaVerne Lee Lynn, 68, Osawatomie, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, at Olathe Medical Center.

He was born June 13, 1936, in Hoisington, Kan., the second of four children of Lawrence Lee and Clara Mae Cooper Lynn. He attended Osawatomie schools, graduating with the Class of 1955.

He was married Aug. 28, 1964, to Carol Sue DeMoss In Prescott, Kan. They lived in Osawatomie and became the parents of two daughters.

Mr. Lynn worked in the laundry at Osawatomie State Hospital. He then got into the grocery business, first at IGA, then Ralph's, then 15 years with Safeway as produce manager. Due to a disability, he retired June 28, 1984.

He was a member of the Assembly of God.

Those preceding him in death include a brother, Leonard Lynn, and two sisters, Marlene Lynn and Janet Landers.

Surviving are his wife, Carol Lynn of the home; two daughters, Angie Stites of Spring Hill and Cindy Wheatley of Osawatomie; and three grandchildren.

Viewing was after 1 p.m. with visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 18 at Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie. Services at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at the funeral home, and burial will be in Osawatomie Cemetery.
