ERNEST E. 'JUNIOR' GOULD

CLASS OF 1955

Ernest E. Gould Jr., 69, a former Osawatomie resident, died Saturday, July 29, 2006, in his home in Pendaries Village in Rociada, N.M.

He was born in Parsons, Kan., and grew up with his sister, Shirley Gould, in Osawatomie. After graduating from Osawatomie High School in 1955, he attended Pittsburg State University.

His first employment was in a Kansas mental hospital.

After his marriage to Donna Jean Wark in 1959, he moved to Culver City, Calif., where he began a career in financing. The couple became the parents of two children, Bradley and Sarah. He worked for several financial firms until going to work for Allstate Insurance in 1965. He retired from Allstate after 33 years. He operated his own agency for a time before officially retiring in 2000.

He married Sherry Dunbar in 1990. They lived in many places before settling in Rociada.

Mr. Gould was a member of Central United Methodist Church; president of the Rio Rancho Men's Golf Association; and president/board member of Pueblo Los Cerros Condo Association.

He was an accomplished golfer and loved to fish and travel.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Gould of the home; a son, Bradley Gould of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two daughters, Sarah Wynn and Heather Dunbar Bickel of College Station, Texas; a sister, Shirley Gray of San Carlos, Mexico; and three grandchildren.

A celebration of his life was held Aug. 4 on the Pendaries Golf Course.
