Donna Marie Heard, 61, Osawatomie, died April 4, 1998 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Osawatomie.

She was born Aug. 15, 1936 in Osawatomie to James Eugene Hammond and Edna Hunt. She was later adopted by Betty Lee Weiland. She attended Osawatomie High School and graduated with the Class of 1954.

She was employed at Heritage Manor as the housekeeping supervisor. She received the Employee of the Month award twice and won the Whatever It Takes award while employed there.

She married Ottis Lynn Heard of Osawatomie on July 15, 1991.

Surviving are her husband, Ottis Lynn Heard of Osawatomie; a daughter-niece, Tammy Kettler of Paola; twin stepchildren, Camron and Carmen Heard; her mother, Edna Hunt of Greeley; a sister Verna Gatlin of Paola; and three brothers, Kenneth Weiland of Osawatomie, Gerry Hunt of Ontario, Canada, and Larry Hunt of Texas.

Cremation. Memorial graveside services were held at the Greeley Cemetery under the direction of Wilson and Son Chapel of Paola. The Rev. Leslie King officiated. Hazel Wilhoite sang a capella at graveside.
