Donald Edward Baker, age 76, of Prairie Village, KS, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012, at his home.

A memorial service was held September 27 at Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village, KS. Burial was at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS.

Mr. Baker was born on april 4, 1936 in Osawatomie, KS. He graduated from Osawatomie High School in the Class of 1954. He received degrees in Hospital Administration from George Washington University and the Naval Post Graduate School.

He served in the United States Navy for 20 years and retired in 1974 as a Lieutenant Commander. Upon his Navy retirement, he passed the C.P.A. exam and returned to his native Kansas where he operated his own accounting firm for 25 years.

Mr. Baker was a dedicated volunteer with the Prairie Village Lions Club and MOAA (Military Officers Association of America).

Survivors include his wife, Keiko Baker, daughter, Cathan Prinzing, and her husband; 2 grandchildren, four brothers, and one sister.

In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions were to the Wounded Warrier Project, P. O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
