ROY ROBERT PLAISTED

AUGUST 24, 1934 - JULY 17, 1984

Final rites for Roy Robert "Bob" Plaisted, 49, of Grove, OK, were held Monday in Wilson and Son Funeral Home. Mr. Plaisted, a former Osawatomie and Paola resident, died July 17 in a boat and drowning accident July 17, 1984, at his home near Grove.

The son of Roy W. and Mildred Nickelson Plaisted, he was born Aug. 24, 1934 in Garnett. As a youth, he lived in the Osawatomie community and graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1953.

He married Louise Longmire Jan 31, 1958, in Paola, where they made their home until moving to Grove, OK, three years ago.

Mr. Plaisted was a U.S.Army veteran. He was a welder for Boildermakers Union No. 83. He was a Baptist and a mason.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Plaisted, of the home; two daughters, Brenda Plaisted, Paola and Janet Burgoon, Beagle; a son, Bradley Plaisted, Grove; three brothers, Wesley Plaisted, Springfield, IL, Ronald Plaisted, Osawatomie, and Larry Plaisted, Kansas City, MO; three sisters, Mary Jean Price, Springfield, IL, Joanne Pritchard, Paola, and Geraldine Dial, Osawatomie; and two grandchildren.

The Rev. L. J. Heiney conducted the services. Earl Williams sang, accompanied by Virginia Reese, organist. Pallbearers were N. L. Cornelius, Earl Reagan, Larry Bromley, Charles Bruce, Edward Gibson and Jerry Burgoon. Honorary pallbearers were E. T. Cornelius, MartinMcGowin, Harold Weaver and Charlie Brixey. Burial was in Osawatomie Cemetery.
