ARTHUR LLOYD OBERMEIER

Services for Arthur Lloyd Obermeier, Kansas City, KS, were held Wednesday in Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home. Mr. Obermeier, a former Osawatomie resident, died Sunday, April 24, 1994, in Shawnee Mission Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 14, 1935 in Louisburg and his parents were Edward and Pearl Gertrude Morgan Obermeier. He grew up in Osawatomie, attended Osawatmoie schools and was a 1953 graduate of Osawatomie High School.

Mr. Obermeier worked in the oil fields until entering the United States Army in the late 1950's. After his discharge from the service, he made his home in the Kansas City area and worked as an elecrician. He was a longtime employee of Ward Electric, Kansas City, MO, and also worked for South Kansas City Electric Co.

He and Sharon Kay Wabile were married in the early 1960's and they became the parents of one daughter. Their marriage ended in divorce.

On May 8, 1986, he and Marjorie Macoubrie were married in Las Vegas, NV.

His memberships included the Swinging Singles Square Dance Club, Kelly's Kapers Square Dance Club and Parents Without Partners.

Among those preceding him in death were two brother. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie, of the home; a daughter, Peggy Denice Obermeier, Dallas, TX; a stepson, David E. Richardson, Shawnee; a stepdaughter, Susan J. Flanner, Wellsville; a brother, Glenn Edward Obermeier, Springfield, MO; a sister, Roberta Hime, Shawnee; a grandson and four step-grandchildren.

The Rev. Curtis Roesch officiated. Hazel Wilhoite sang, accompanied by Lois Bisig. Pallbearers were David E. Richardson, David J. Hime, Merle D. Flanner, Edward Obermeier, Steve Obermeier and Paul Obermeier. Burial was in Osawatomie Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his name to the National Kidney Foundation.
