Charles E. Clearwater, 77, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012.

Charles was born Oct. 21, 1934 in Osawatomie to John and Nettie (Cox) Clearwater. He married Betty Yvonne Adams in Osawatomie Aug, 25, 1953. She survives.

They were members of the Strato-Jets Square Dance Club, where they had been past president and vice-presidents. He was a member CB Radio Club, CERT, he coached PAL and Babe Ruth League Baseball and he was a member of Meriden Community Church.

Charles was a journeyman carpenter since 1954, retiring at the age of 62. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local #1445, he worked with his son Charles, at Clearwater Automotive from 2001-04.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Clearwater, Topeka; his children, Robert D. Clearwater (Tammy), Topeka, Charles S. Clearwater (Janet), Topeka, Paula Y. Holmes (Alvin F.) Council Grove, and James Clearwater, Topeka; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bobby Dale Clearwater, Topeka, Pearl DeVore, Topeka, and Wanda Vaughn, Nevada MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Rena Morgan. Cremation is planned. Family will greet friends Saturday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd, Topeka KS 66614. Burial will be private at a later date.
