Barbara Jean Adams age 74 of Paola passed away Wed, October 30, 2009 at the St Lukes Hospital, Kansas City, MO. Inlou of flowers memorials may be made to American Diabeties or Cancer.

Barbara was born on Feb. 19 1935 in New Lancaster, Kansas, to Delbert and Beryle Graham Toncray. She grew up in the Miami County area and graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1952. She worked for the IRS in Kansas City, MO. for 14 years until 1991. She was united in marriage to Charles R. Adams on Oct. 17, 1953 in Osawatomie, KS. They lived in the Kansas City area until moving back to Paola in 1991.

Barbara enjoyed gardening, ceramic’s and crafts, going to the Chiefs training camp with her husband, attending grandchildrens activities, and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, one son Bryan, sister Maxine Toncray, and sister Karen Marshall.

Survivors are her husband Charles Sr. of Paola, son Charles R. Jr. and wife Linda Adams of Ft. Worth TX., son Bret and wife Sally Adams of Orlando, FL., daughter, Kim and husband Mike Backman of Olathe, mother Beryle Toncray of Osawatomie,7 grandchildren , 6 great grand children, brother Buck Toncray of Fontana, sister Kay Adams of Miller MO., sister Winona Snider of Paola, sister Susie Miller of Fontana, and sister Flo Hartley of Fontana. She will greatly be missed by family and friends.
