Betty Lou Aiken, 80, Louisburg, KS died July 6, 2015 at Kansas City, Missouri. She was born January 10, 1935 at KCMO to the late Edward R. and Mamie Feebeck.

Betty lived and moved several times as a young girl including living by the Old Gill Stables just North of 179th and 69 Highway. She started school at 179th and Metcalf at the age of four upon the teacher’s recommendation. The family moved to the family farm Northwest of Osawatomie where she graduated with Honors in 1952. While in H.S., she was in the drama club and National Honor Society. Following graduation she went to work for Miami County at the courthouse.

She met her husband Harold "Tommy" Aiken at a dance in Osawatomie. They married on June 14, 1953 in Louisburg at the United Methodist Church. The couple established their home on the Aiken Family Farm that Tommy had purchased from his grandmother Anna Aiken. On this farm they raised five children; Susan Price, James Aiken, Ruth Macoubrie, Cathy Aiken, and Robert "Rob" Aiken. They also established a large dairy with the partnership of her in-laws Cyrus H. and Deloris Aiken. C & H Aiken Farms operated for several decades. At one time they milked over 220 cows. Betty helped with the milking, chores, and the bookkeeping. She was a member of Eastside Homemakers Unit, United Methodist Women Clubs for many years, 4H Project Leader, and then in 1964 she helped start the Middle Creek Riding and Roping Club. The arena was located in her backyard and many people got to enjoy it. She rode in many parades, horseshows, and trail rides but most people will remember her working in the entry stand.

She is preceded by her parents; brothers Edward R "Pete" Jr. and Frank Marvin Feebeck and sister Hazel Hager.

Betty is survived by her husband, Tommy; daughters Sue, Ruth (Jr.), and Cathy; sons James and Rob (Michelle); Granddaughters Renee Dotson, Kirbi Macoubrie, Randi Longgood, Bailey Aiken; Grandsons Adam Longgood, Michael Price, Justin Price, Tyler Macoubrie, Blake Aiken, Braden Aiken; Great granddaughters Stephanie Scott, Christina Scott and Kelsey Kwiatkowski; Great grandsons Brad Scott and Max Macoubrie, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered as an avid crossword puzzle player who loved to travel and learn about all the history of their travels. Betty enjoyed having card and/or game nights with friends and family. She was a woman who loved her flowers, who deeply enjoyed being a farmer's wife, and a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Betty’s request was to have everyone wear casual or western attire to her services.

The family suggests contributions to the Louisburg United Methodist Church.
