IRENE DURRANT DOLLAR

APRIL 24, 1934 - JUNE 9, 2007

Marjorie Irene (Durrant) Dollar, age 73, of Ocala, Florida, formerly of Osawatomie, Kansas and Overland Park, Kansas died Saturday, June 9, 2007.

Irene, as she was known, was born April 24, 1934 at Osawatomie, Kansas. She was the daughter of Auburn B. and Myrtle Irene (Pontious) Durrant. She grew up in Osawatomie and graduated from Osawatomie High School with the Class of 1952. She then attended Wichita Business College.

She was united in marriage to John Albert Dollar on June 2, 1956 at Osawatomie, Kansas. They made their home in Overland Park and became the parents of one daughter. Upon retirement, they moved to Missouri and then to Florida two years ago.

Irene was a homemaker. Her life was devoted to her family. She gained much enjoyment from her grandchildren.

She was baptized and grew up in the Presbyterian Church at Osawatomie. She was a former Eastern Star member.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother Darrell and her brother Maurice in 2000.

She is survived by her husband John of the home; her daughter Brenda Leebrick and son-in-law Lance of Atwood, Kansas; three grandchildren Daniel, Laura, and Michael Leebrick; her twin sister Elaine Fry of Eckert, Colorado; other relatives and friends.

Memorial service 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at the Presbyterian Church in Osawatomie. Visitation an hour prior to the service from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Inurnment in the Osawatomie Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Osawatomie Presbyterian Church.
