RICHARD CASIDA

DECEMBER 10, 1933 - OCTOBER 28, 1996

Richard Dean Casida, 62, a native of Osawatomie, died unexpectedly Monday, October 28, 1996 at his home in Kansas City, KS.

More commonly known as Jack, he was born Dec. 10, 1933, in Osawatomie, the son of Warren Dennis and Bessie Beatrice Mooney Casida.

He grew up in Osawatomie and attended the schools there, graduating from Osawatomie High School with the Class of 1952.

He entered the United States Army in March 1954, and served until February 1956.

He was married to Roberta Miller in 1961, and they became the parents of one son. He was married to Rosemary Kresin Christie in March 1981. Both marriages ended in divorce.

He had made his home in Independence, MO., St. Louis, MO., Oklahoma City, OK., and Osawatomie before moving to Kansas City, KS.

Mr. Casida was a self-employed electrician.

Surviving are a son, Kevin Lee Casida of Royal Oaks, MI.; two stepdaughers, Daen Bennett and Ramona Helson, both of Kansas City, KS.; four brothers, Ralph Casida of Lake Isabella, CA., Raymond Casida of Osawatomie, Roger Casida of Houston, TX., and David Casida of Carson City, NV.; three sisters, Frances Gates of Merriam, Beverly Holsinger of Clinton, MO., and Linda Kay Ashley of Auston, TX., and 12 grandchildren.

Cremation. A graveside memorial service was held at Osawatomie Cemetery under the directon of Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home of Osawatomie. The Rev. Curtis Roesch officiated.

Memorials were to the Osawatomie High School Alumni Scholarship Fund.
