Kitty’ Wanda (“Corky”) Maxine Matherly Spinuzzi, age 85, died peacefully

in her sleep on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at her home in Aubrey, Texas. 


She was born on June 30, 1933 in Paola, Kansas to Lawrence E. and Ruby

(Holt) Matherly and was the second of three children.  At the age of 18,

she moved to Austin, Texas, where she met and married John Anthony

Spinuzzi.


Left to honor Kitty and remember her love are her husband John; their

five children, Gina McCormick, John Kent Spinuzzi, Nancy Harris, Marc

Spinuzzi, and Clay Spinuzzi; 19 grandchildren; and many great-

grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother, Larry Matherly of

Colorado.  Kitty was preceded in death by her parents and her sister,

Willa Lou Springer.


Kitty was a vivacious dance instructor, model, soccer player, docent,

volunteer, avid crossword puzzler, and, above all, Christ follower.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. December 21 in the chapel at

Denton Bible Church.  Memorial donations may be made in Kitty’s name

to the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA).
