Clarice Dean Johnson Matney, 72, Spring Hill, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, in the Good Samaritan Home in Olathe.

The daughter of Clarence and Eva Yocum Johnson, she was born Dec. 8, 1933, in Osawatomie. She was a 1951 graduate of Osawatomie High School.

She and Fred H. Matney were married in 1951. They were married for 43 years before divorcing in 1994.

Those preceding her in death were a brother, Robert Johnson, and two sisters, Kathy Johnson and Janie Romero.

Survivors include her children, Fred H. Matney II of Troy, Ala., Amy Weston of Palm Bay, Fla., and Robert Matney of Louisburg; a sister, Johanna Megyeri of Olathe; a brother, Jerry Johnson of Garden Grove, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

Services were conducted at her bedside Dec. 17. Arrangements were under the direction of McGilley and Frye Funeral Home of Olathe.
