HERBERT EUGENE ROBINSON

FEBRUARY 6, 1931 - MARCH 28, 2013

Herbert Eugene Robinson age 82, of Osawatomie, KS died Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Lifecare Center of Osawatomie, KS.

Herb was the eldest of five children born to Carl Robinson and Marjorie (Adams) Robinson. He grew up in Osawatomie and attended school in the Osawatomie school system, graduating from Osawatomie High School in the class of 1950.

After he graduated from high school Herb went into the US Army during the conflict in Korea. In 1953 he transferred to the US Army Reserves and returned to Osawatomie. He then went to work for Meek’s Drug Store where he did custodial work. Later he went to work for the US Post office in Osawatomie doing custodial/janitorial work. While working at the post office, he took on two more jobs doing custodial work for Dr. Appenfeller at his medical office and the Osawatomie Graphic. Herb retired in the late 1990’s.

Due to his health in 2000 Herb went to live at Heritage Manor Nursing home in Osawatomie.

Herb liked to spend time in the kitchen and took a self taught cooking course teaching himself to bake and cook.

He was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church of Osawatomie.

Herb was preceded in death by his parents, one sister as a small child Betty Ann Robinson and one brother Carlos Molina Robinson who died in 2005.

He is survived by two brothers Harold Dean Robinson and Clayton Jerome Robinson both of Osawatomie.
