CLASS OF 1950 MAY 12, 1932 - JUNE 17, 1993 KANSAS CITY, Mo.-Services for Shirley Jean Floyd, Kansas City, Mo., were held Wednesday in the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Floyd, 61, died Thursday, June 17, 1993, in Truman Medical , Center. She was born May 12, 1932, in Mapleton, Kan., the daughter of Lewis and Vivian Van Johnson. When she was a small child, the family moved to Osawatomie, Kan., where she grew up and attended school, graduating from Osawatomie High School in 1950. After moving to Kansas City, Mo., she became a certified nurse's aide. Among those preceding her in death was one son. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Floyd, of the home; a son, Lonnie C. Floyd, Lawrence; four daughters, Wynona F. Jackson and Dorla R. Wilbum, Lawrence, Ten K. Dew, Topeka, and Toni S. Floyd, Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers, Lewis D. Johnson, Los Angeles, Calif., Dickie L. Johnson and La Van W. Johnson, Lawrence; four sisters, Diana H. Coleman, Falls Church, Va., Sharon S. Stovall, Topeka, and Marsha L. Martin and Marva W. Kimball, Lawrence; and eight grandchildren. Burial was in the Mapleton, Kan., cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Lawrence A. Jones and Sons Funeral Chapel. |
