HARRY 'POOCH' TYRELL

CLASS OF 1939

AUGUST 2, 1921 - JUNE 10, 2002

Harry Pooch Tyrell, 80, an Osawatomie native, died Monday, June 10, 2002, at his home in Mankato, Kan.

He was born Aug. 3, 1921, in Osawatomie, the son of Robert Riley and Ida Mae Rosetti Tyrell. He was a 1939 graduate of Osawatomie High School.

He and Betty Davis were married Aug. 14, 1942, in Belleville, Kan.

Before retiring, he drove a truck for the Kansas Department of Transportation and had lived in Hoisington, Kan., and Kansas City, Kan., before moving to Mankato.

Mr. Tyrell was a member of the Harmony United Methodist Church in Mankato.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Tyrell; two sons, David Tyrell and Vance Tyrell, both of Hutchinson; a brother, William Tyrell of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Avis Ricci of Chandler, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorial services were June 14 at the church, followed by inurnment in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Mankato.
