ELLA ELIZIBETH THOMPSON PATRICK

Ella Elizibeth Patrick , 81, died July 1, 2002 in Hartford, AL, after a long illness suffering with cancer.

Known as "Betty", she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Thompson of Osawatomie. She attended Osawatomie High School and graduated with the Class of 1939.

She and her husband, the Rev. Robert M. Patrick, Sr., were married for 59 years before he died.

He was a banker for 30 years before he went into the ministry. At that time she gave up her gift and antique shop to help him in his work. They both attended St. Paul's School of Theology in Kansas City, MO and then served churches in Cedar Point, LaCygne, Harveyville, Emporia, Elmdale, Strong City and New Lancaster, all in Kansas, and three churches in the Hartford area.

They had moved to Hartford in 1991 to make their home with their son and his family.

Others preceding her in death were two sisters, Margaret Grant and Marie McKinley and a half brother, Almon Thompson.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Moren and Susan Redeifs; a son, Robert Patrick, Jr.; a brother, Charles Thompson; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held in Hartford and a second service in the United Methodist Church in Americus, KS. Burial was in the Waverly Cemetery in Waverly, KS.

Memorials were to the United Methodist Church in Americus.
