John Daniel Chrisjohn, age 85, of Burkeville, Texas died on Sunday, at his residence.

Mr. Chrisjohn was a native of Osawatomie, Kansas and had lived in Burkeville since 1958. Before moving to Texas he was an ex golden glove boxer and played baseball for a semi-pro team in Kansas.

Following road construction, he came to Burkeville and married Dorotha Watson. He was a construction superintendent for several bridge construction companies and was a World War II veteran. His favorite past time was working with wood.

Survivors include his children, Paul D. "Danny" Chrisjohn and wife, Cathy and Julie Ann Chrisjohn, 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Mr. Chrisjohn was preceded in death by his wife Dorotha.

Burial: Tanner Cemetery, Burkeville, Newton Co., TX.
