CLASS OF 1938 OCTOBER 5, 1920 - AUGUST 21, 2007 Alice Marie Stahl, 86, Louisburg, died Aug. 21, 2007, at the Louisburg Care Center. She was born Oct. 5, 1920, in Hillsdale to George and Mary Dempsey Judd. As a child, she moved to Osawatomie and graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1938. She was united in marriage to Joseph Stahl on Oct. 25, 1938, at the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Osawatomie. They had 11 children. The family lived on a farm outside the Wea area. Mrs. Stahl worked as a cook and waitress most of her adult life. Some places of employment include 69 Grill, Pennybakers Caf?Chili House, Blue Lantern, Hitching Post, Wolfburgers, Do Drop Inn, CJ's Bar and Grill, and Lakemary Center. Her real enjoyment in life was raising her children. In 1972, the family moved to a farm near Parker, where they raised cattle. After Joseph's death in 1991, she continued to live in Parker. She moved to Ocheltree in 1995, then moved to Louisburg Vintage Park in January 2004. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, bird watching, baseball, fishing and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Joseph; two sons, Robert Joseph Stahl and Leonard Phillip Stahl; sister, Bessie Bird; two brothers, Jack and Alan Judd; and one grandson, Mark Aiken. Survivors include her children, Herman Stahl of Spring Hill, Deloris Dee Aiken of Louisburg, Bessie Stevens of Louisburg, Margaret Beets of Shawnee, Mary Pretz of Paola, Jim Stahl of Centerville, John Stahl of Parker, Vickie Gillespie of Lebo, and Jeanette Slyter of Hartford, Kan.; special friend, Fred Yeager, of Louisburg; 44 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Wea; burial will follow in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.
