Mildred L. Hays, 86, Newton, Kan., a native of Osawatomie, died Friday, March 3, 2006, in Wichita.

Born Jan. 29, 1920, in Osawatomie, she was the daughter of Samuel D. and Edith E. Marley Bearly. She grew up in Osawatomie and was a 1938 graduate of Osawatomie High School.

She and Robert E. Hays were married March 10, 1939.

Those preceding her in death included one son.

Survivors include her husband, who is a resident of the Kansas Christian Retirement Home in Newton, where she lived until her death.

Inurnment will be in Osawatomie Cemetery. No time was listed. Arrangements were cared for by Baker Funeral Home in Peabody, Kan.
