DECEMBER 25, 1919 - FEBRUARY 25, 1999

Services for Trissie M. Diediker, Osawatomie, were held Monday in the First Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Diediker, a lifelong resident of Osawatomie, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999 in the Paola Rehabilitation Nursing Center. She was 79.

She and her twin brother, Everett, were born Dec. 25, 1919 in Osawatomie and her parents were Wallace Jennings Demrist and Ethel Fay Cook Whitney. She was raised in Osawatomie and received her education in Osawatomie schools, graduating from Osawatomie High School in 1937.

After attending beauty college, she worked for several years until her marriage to Wayne Edward Diediker June 28, 1941 in Osawatomie. The became the parents of four children.

Her memberships included the First Presbyterian Church of Osawatomie, Trainman Ladies and National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees.

Amont those preceding her in death were her twin brother, Everett Whitney, and two other brothers, Sewell Whitney and Richard James Whitney; and two sisters, Naomi, who died in infancy and Margaret Kester.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne, of the home; four sons, Wayne Diediker, Fontana, John Diediker and Lyle Diediker, Osawatomie, and Dean Diediker, Lane; a brother, Wallace Whitney, Eagle Rock, Mo.; two sisters, Rosalie Whitney, Tucson, Ariz. and Ila Diediker, Topeka; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Leslie King officiated. Carol Uhlenhop was the organist and Bonnie Wendt was soloist. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Burial was in Osawatomie Cemetery under the direction of Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home.

A memorial is established in her name to the church.
