Darlene Isabel Troxel was born January 20, 1920, the daughter of Fred and Adelyn (Ola Davis) Troxel.

She was raised in Osawatomie and graduated from Osawatomie High School with the class of 1937. Her first husband was Robert Armstrong. They had 3 children, Roberta, Margaret Ann, and Cheryl. Robert and Darlene were later divorced. Darlene’s second married name was Adkins.

She died April 6, 1954 at the age of 34, and is buried at the White Chapel Gardens in Wichita, KS.
