Dorothy Lee Phillips age 100 of Paola, KS died Saturday October 31, 2020 at Richmond Health Care and Rehab.
Dorothy was born December 23, 1919 in Kansas City, KS. She was the third of five children born to Bud and Edna (Plaisted) Roberts. Dorothy grew up in Osawatomie where she attended school. Graduating with the Osawatomie High School Class of 1937.
After high school, Dorothy works at a doctor’s office for a short time. Then on October 6, 1938, Dorothy and James Louis Phillips were united in marriage in Independence, MO. To this union, one daughter was born, Laura. Dorothy stayed home and raised their daughter. The marriage later ended in divorce.
In 1962, Dorothy began working for the Osawatomie State Hospital in the Dietary department. She worked for 20 years before retiring in 1982. Dorothy enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and painting scenery pictures.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Jim and Mary Lou Roberts, Arlene and Harold Stoneman, Margaret and Howard Keitz and infant brother Wesley.
Survivors include daughter Laura (Lester) Homrighausen of Paola, KS, three grandchildren Sandra (Steven) Haenchen, Carl (Karla) Homrighausen and Brian (Jamie) Homrighausen, five great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Along with other family and friends.
