Margaret Bailey, 84, Sun City, Ariz., a native of Osawatomie, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, at the Del E. Webb Memorial Hospital in Sun City West.

She was born Jan. 20, 1919, in Osawatomie, the daughter of Floyd A. and Nina Gladys Jones Jacobs. She was a 1937 graduate of Osawatomie High School.

On Sept. 25, 1943, she and Ronald E. Bailey were married in Quantico, Va.

She was a former resident of Fort Scott.

Mrs. Bailey received her life teaching certificate from Pittsburg State University and retired from the Western Insurance Co., where she had been an insurance supervisor for several years.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald E. Bailey of the home; two daughters, Sandra K. Steitz of Sun City West and Beverly A. Wright of Kansas City, Mo.; a son, Ronald E. Bailey of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sisters, Mary E. Smith of Sun City West, Ariz., and Gertrude A. Vess and Billie L. Bryant, both of Osawatomie; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services were Tuesday at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home in Fort Scott. Pallbearers were Bob Steitz, Justin Steitz, Brian Kelley, Brian Reddy, Chris Wright and Jerry Wright. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery.
