ELEANOR EDDY WAGGONER BUDKE

Eleanor Lee Waggoner Budke, age 87, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Osawatomie, Kansas, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away October 5, 2006.

She was born August 20, 1919 in Osawatomie, Kansas. She was the daughter of Leonard J. Eddy and Beulah May Porter. She graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1937 and then from Christian College in Columbia, Missouri with an Associate of Arts Degree.

She was married to Ralph E. Waggoner on October 18, 1942 in Osawatomie. They became the parents of one daughter. Her husband preceded her in death on December 16, 1973.

She co-owned and managed the Coach Light ladies apparel shop.

On September 6, 1975, she married Leo C. Budke. The couple lived in Osawatomie, Kansas until 1983 when they moved to Leisure World in Mesa, Arizona. Leo preceded her in death on July 18, 2001. After his death, Eleanor moved to the Springs of East Mesa where she made many wonderful friends.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Osawatomie, PEO Chapter AZ of Mesa, and Chapter #26 Order of Eastern Star of Osawatomie. She had served as Grand Adah of the Grand Chapter of Kansas Order of Eastern Star 1956 - 1957.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, two brothers Leonard Eddy, Jr. and William W. Eddy, and one sister Louise Eddy Henry.

She is survived by her daughter Diana L. Reed of Tempe, Arizona; her step-daughter Marcia Roberts of Fairbanks, Alaska; her step-son Jim Budke and his wife Katie of Overland Park, Kansas; seven grandchildren Keri Stoffel and husband Scott of Chandler, Arizona, Stacey Oberan of Chino Valley, Arizona, Vickie Green and husband Andre of Stockton, California, Jason Roberts of North Pole, Alaska, Andy Budke of Dallas, Texas, Ginny Budke of Austin, Texas, and Julie Budke of Overland Park, Kansas; six great grandchildren Ryan Stoffel, Jacob and Zachary Oberan, and Andre, Aidan, and Anya Green; other relatives and friends.

She will be dearly missed by her family and all those she leaves behind.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 13, 2006, at the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie. Burial was in the Osawatomie Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jim Budke, Andy Budke, Bill Eddy, Steve Eddy, Bob Johnson, and Gordon Schrader. Memorials are to the American Heart Association.
