FREDERICK A. TROXEL

Frederick Allen Troxel, 83, an Osawatomie native, died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at his Belton, Mo., home.

He was born Oct. 7, 1917, at Osawatomie, the second of the three children of Frederick Weaver and Ola Adelyn Davis Troxel. He grew up in Osawatomie, attended the local schools and was a 1936 graduate of Osawatomie High School.

A heavy equipment operator in construction, he worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad, Westinghouse and the Lake City Arsenal. For the last 15 years of his working career, he worked as a tool-and-die maker in the Claycomo Plant of Ford Motor Co.

He was married to Eileen Lucille Jones on June 22, 1940. They became the parents of seven children. They lived in Osawatomie until 1957, when they moved to Hickman Mills, Mo. His wife preceded him in death.

Others preceding him in death included a brother and a sister.

Survivors include four sons, Frederick A. Troxel Jr., of Blue Springs, Mo., Richard E. Troxel of Belton, Mo., and Arthur Lee Troxel and Derwood F. Troxel, both of Grandview, Mo.; three daughters, Lydia E. Thompson of Parkville, Mo., Sandra E. Stanley of Copperas, Texas, and Helen P. Gibbens of St. Joseph, Mo.; 17 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie. Pallbearers will be his sons and Darrell Troxel and Matthew Troxel. Burial will be in the Osawatomie Cemetery.
