MYRON G. PIGGOTT

Corona Del Mar, Calif.- - -Memorial services were held for Myron G. Piggott, Westminster, in St. Michaels Episcopal Church.

Mr. Piggott, 76, died Wednesday, March 8, 1995 in a hospital in Westminster.

He was born in Osawatomie, Kan. and his parents were George and Lena Piggott. He attended Osawatomie High School where he graduated in 1936. He attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence where he played football. He later earned a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Nebraska in Omaha.

Mr. Piggott served with the U.S. Air Force for more than 26 years. During World War II, he flew 35 combat missions in Europe as a bombardier and received several medals and commendations, including the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with four oak clusters.

He lived in various states and in Japan during his years in the service. He retired in 1966 as a lieutenant colonel and settled his family in Huntington Beach. He established a second career as the director of personnel at Hawthorne Community Hospital where he worked 16 years until retiring in 1984.

Mr. Piggott was a member of Masons, Shriners and American Legion.

He and his wife, the former Jeanice Broman, were married 53 years.

Survivors include his wie, Jeanice, of the home; two children, George Piggott, Irvine, and Sonia Duffoo; a sister, Evelyn Staffelbach, Midway City; and three grandchildren.

Burial was in Riverside National Cemetery with full military honors.
