Eugene B. Lucas, 68, of 6506 W. 73rd St., Overland Park, died Wednesday at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. He was born in Gas, Kan., and had lived in this area 35 years.

Mr. Lucas attended school in Osawatomie Kan. and graduated with the class of 1936.

Mr. Lucas was chief engineer at Children's Mercy Hospital for 10 years before he retired in 1982.

He was a B-17 pilot in Italy for the Army Air Forces in World War II.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Marian R. Lucas of the home; a son, Richard E. Lucas, Lawrence, Kan.; a daughter, Miss Frances L. Lucas of the home; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Newcomer Overland Park Chapel; burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
