RAYMOND W. O'BRIEN

Dr. Raymond W. O'Brien, 42, formerly of Osawatomie, died September 29, 1959, at his home, 3701 West Sixty-third Street, Mission Hills. He had suffered from cancer and ceased practice nine months ago because of his illness.

A graduate of the University of Kansas medical school in 1943, Dr. O'Brien received additional training at the Mayo clinic in Rochester. He began practice in Kansas City in 1948 as a specialist in internal medicine. He was on the staffs at St. Luke's and General hospitals and was a member of the Jackson County Medical society, the Kansas City Southwest Clinal society, the Kansas City Heart association and the Kansas City Society of Internists. He was affiliated with the Village Presbyterian church in Prairie Village.

Dr. O'Brien was born in El Dorado but spent most of his life in Osawatomie, until entering KU. He graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1935. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Martha L. O'Brien; three children, Marsha Lynn O'Brien, Raymond W. O'Brien, Jr. and Terryl Dennis O'Brien; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray O'Brien, Osawatomie, and a nephew reared with him, Timothy O'Brien, also of Osawatomie.

Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock Thursday at the Newcomer Chapel, Brush Creek and the Paseo. Graveside services will be held at 4 o'clock in the Osawatomie cemetery.
