MARJORIE LHUILLIER FIXLEY

CLASS OF 1935

JULY 18, 1916 - APRIL 5, 2006

The following is information that was supplied by Wayne and Marjorie for the 50th reunion held in 1985:

"Since graduation, our lives have had a lot of good times and a few bad ones. Wayne went on to Kansas University and graduated with a B.A. in business on June 10, 1940. Marjorie stayed at home. We were married January 4, 1941, and made our first home in St. Joseph MO where Wayne was employed with a CPA firm. Wayne enlisted in the Army in January, 1942, and was discharged in March, 1943. During this time, Marjorie worked at a local drug store. After discharge, we settled in Kansas City MO for a few years. We have two sons, Mike and Mark. Mike, age 40, lived in Olathe, KS and is a plant superintendent for Smith & Loveless, Inc. He has a son, 20, and a daughter, 17. Mark age, 39, lives in Oklahoma City, OK and is a medical doctor, specializing in diseases of lungs and chests. He has a daughter, 8, and a son, 2. After spending a few years in Kansas City, MO. we moved back to Osawatomie in February, 1950. I opened my own accounting business there and drifted into insurance and real estate business. In April, 1978, I sold my insurance agency and in August, 1980, retired from the real estate business. On December 4, 1980, we sold our home in Osawatomie moved to our lake home on Grand Lake at Grove, OK. We are still at home in Grove and welcome our friends to visit us when you are in the area."

 

Obituary:

Marjorie Maxine Fixley, age 89, died April 5, 2006 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born July 18, 1916 in Pleasanton, Kansas, the daughter of Marvin C. and Avis Mays Lhuillier. She moved to Osawatomie, Kansas at a young age and graduated from Osawatomie High School with the Class of 1935.

On January 4, 1941, she married Wayne Fixley in Olathe, Kansas.

Marjorie retired to Grove, OK in 1980 and in June 1999 moved to Brighten Gardens in Oklahoma City.

She was a member of the Eastern Star and Grace Presbyterian Church, Grove, OK.

Her parents, husband, and two brothers Clayton (Monk) and Marvin J. (Bud) Lhuillier, granddaughters Keri Jane Fixley and Amy Jill Fixley preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons Mike Fixley and wife Mary Lou, Pleasant View, TN, Dr. Mark S. Fixley and wife Vickie, Oklahoma City; grandchildren Gregg Fixley, Lynn DeVoe, Lori Fixley, Tyler Fixley, Andrew Barlow, Megan and Alyssa Crow, four great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Betty Lhuillier and Elaine Lhuillier.

Special thanks to the entire staff of Brighton Gardens Assisted Living Center for the love and care shown to Marge. Memorial donations may be made to the Grace Presbyterian Church, Grove, OK.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 8, 2006 at the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home, Osawatomie, KS with burial to follow in the Osawatomie Cemetery.
