RICHARD E. GARDNER

KANSAS CITY, MO - - An Osawatomie, Kan. native, Richard E. Gardner, 61, of Kansas City, Kan., died Monday, November 20, 1978, in Bethany Medical Center after apparently suffering a heart attack.

Mr. Gardner had lived in this area 42 years. He was a carman for the Santa Fe Railway 32 years before he retired in February.

Mr. Gardner was a member of the Roger E. Sherman Masonic Lodge; the Kansas City, Kan., Scottish Rite bodies; and the Abdallah Shrine.

Among the survivors are his wife, Mrs. Irene A. Gardner, of the home; a son, William E. Gardner, Denver, Colo; his mother, Mrs. Leoti Gardner, Wyoming, Mich; a sister, Mrs. Marsha Freeman, Wyoming, Mich; and five grandchildren.

Services were held Wednesday in Simmons Chapel with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.
