DAVID WAYNE DUNCAN

 CLASS OF 1935

JULY 22, 1917 - NOVEMBER 13, 2013

The following is information that was supplied by David for the 50th reunion held in 1985:

"After High School, I worked in Colorado and different places before the Army. Spent 4-1/2 years working for Uncle Sam. After that, we married, and worked 33 years for the telephone company in Kansas City. We retired 5 years ago and moved to a place near Stover, MO. We have one daughter and four grandkids."

 

Obituary:

David W. Duncan, age 96, of Raytown, MO, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Hidden Lake Nursing Home in Raytown. He was born July 22, 1917, in Lane, KS, a son of the late Blaine F. and Elsi (Thompson) Duncan.

David was a United States Army veteran having served in World War II. He retired from Southwestern Bell after many years of employment.

He was a member of the Lee's Summit Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Fleta, of the home; daughter, Ruth Todd and husband, Larry, of Raytown, MO; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Duncan, his brothers, John Duncan and Roger Duncan and his sister, Ruth Pees.

A celebration of David's life was held on December 3, 2013, at the Lee's Summit Church of Christ. A private family interment was held in the Stover Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions were suggested for the American Behcet's Disease Association.

Arrangements were under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funveral Home of Versailles.
